Dedicated to reducing poverty and lifting impoverished communities through sustainable development. The work covers non-formal adult education, women and child development, health and nutrition, low-cost water and sanitation, care of the elderly, disaster relief, public hygiene, organic farming and irrigation, with the aim of developing young people into empowered leaders of a prosperous rural India.

  • Modern technology to raise agricultural productivity
  • Vocational training for alternate occupations
  • Stronger rural governance: responsive, accountable and transparent
Healthcare on Wheels

Community health

Healthcare on wheels

A community health initiative that brings free or affordable care to rural and under-served areas. Mobile health units are run by volunteer practitioners from many specialisations, reaching families who cannot risk a day’s wages to visit a hospital, and pairing treatment with health awareness.

  • Mobile medical units that reach the unreached
  • Stronger outreach for primary healthcare
  • Emergency vehicles and ambulances for reproductive and child health
  • Public-private collaboration to meet growing demand
  • Helping people become digitally active healthcare citizens

Child welfare

Children in foster care

Many things in life are not by choice. This programme gives destitute and orphaned children, and those whose parents cannot care for them, a loving home environment and a better childhood, working with government agencies, non-profits and local families until each child moves to a permanent family.

  • Community-based efforts to reunite children with their birth families
  • Support for living expenses in shelter homes through public-private partnership
  • Formal education, nutrition, health and protection
  • Empowering each child to reach their full potential
  • Training ground teams to prevent children entering the system

Education

Free education, empowering the future

A movement to end educational inequity in India, providing free and compulsory education to all children aged six to fourteen as a fundamental right. Free schooling helps end child labour, and volunteer teachers engage children in the social and cultural life of their communities.

  • Technology that helps children adapt and thrive beyond the classroom
  • Encouraging students to become young changemakers
  • Better access to quality education, with a focus on the girl child
  • Student-led support for primary, secondary and higher education
  • Collaboration with government initiatives for free education
Self and Community Empowerment

Empowerment

Women’s rights are human rights

Women have an equal claim to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the empowerment of women is the nation’s empowerment. The work supports training and employment schemes, entrepreneurship, safety, protection of the girl child, gender sensitisation, female literacy and access to technology.

  • Self-employment and self-help group opportunities
  • Research on women entrepreneurs and their contribution
  • Helping women rise above adverse conditions
  • Mobilising government schemes and programmes for women
  • Services for women who are vulnerable and marginalised
